CAO Documentary Style Film Explores Cigar-Making Process

Nashville, July 12, 2006: CAO, one of the world’s foremost premium cigar manufacturers, announced today that it will release its short film documentary entitled, “Seed to Soul,” at the RTDA 74th Annual Convention and International Trade Show in Las Vegas July 17-19.
Set in the lush regions of Nicaragua and Honduras, the film chronicles the evolution of a premium cigar from the genesis of the seed all the way to the finishing stages of packaging. Directed and produced by veteran filmmaker Lynn Bennett, ‘Seed’ delves into the process of cigar making in a detailed fashion never before seen. Narrated by CAO’s Ozgener family, ‘Seed’ explores seven different stages of the manufacturing process. “When we set out to create ‘Seed to Soul,’ our intent was to go behind-the-scenes and capture what’s involved in the making of a great cigar,” said CAO Vice President Tim Ozgener. Added CAO Vice President Aylin Ozgener, “We think the public will be surprised at just how labor-intensive the actual process is; every step is performed by hand without shortcuts.” “’Seed to Soul’ was our way of placing the spotlight on the workers in our factories who live, breathe, eat and sleep tobacco; this film is dedicated to the people of Nicaragua and Honduras,” concluded CAO Founder and President Cano Ozgener.
“Seed to Soul” will be available at select retail tobacconists across the country as a part of the CAO Conmemorativo Sampler, as well as on CAO M.E.R.C.H., the online boutique found on
