CAO Selected as Exclusive Cigar Sponsor to Prestigious Niaf Gala Weekend

CAO Italia Lights Up High Profile Weekend In Washington, D.C.

Nashville, November 13, 2006: CAO, one of the world’s foremost premium cigar manufacturers, had the honor of being chosen as the exclusive cigar sponsor to the 31st Annual National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Convention, held October 20-21 at the Hilton Washington & Towers in Washington, D.C.
President George W. Bush made an appearance at the pre-show gala on October 20 featuring Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which continued a three-decade tradition of every U.S. president attending the Foundation’s gala weekend. A Grappa & CAO Cigar Bar was a popular stop for VIP guests of the evening, featuring specially created CAO Italia cigars adorned with a gold secondary band emblazoned with the NIAF logo. CAO Chief Financial Officer Adam Shepard presented Italy’s Ambassador to the United States, Giovanni Castellaneta, with a personally inscribed CAO Italia Humidor containing 100 CAO Italia Gondola cigars. In attendance were Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, Jr.; Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley; baseball greats Yogi Berra and Tommy Lasorda; actor Alan Alda; actress Anne Hathaway; and singer Jerry Vale, among others.
CAO Italia recently became the eighth CAO brand to be awarded a rating of ‘90’ (“OUTSTANDING”) or above by Cigar Aficionado, widely regarded as the leading authority on premium cigars.
CAO International, Inc. is the producer of one of the country’s top lines of premium cigars, Meerschaum pipes and pipe tobaccos. Founded by Cano A. Ozgener in Nashville as a labor of love 38 years ago, today CAO products can be found on every continent in the world with the exception of Antarctica. CAO produces eight cigar lines that have all been rated ‘90’ (“OUTSTANDING”) or above by Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider.
