CAO Announces new company president

CAO Names Tim Ozgener As New CAO President

Nashville, September 27, 2006: CAO, one of the world’s foremost premium cigar manufacturers, announced today that it has appointed Tim Ozgener as the new company president, succeeding his father, Cano Ozgener.
Cano Ozgener, who founded CAO International, Inc. in 1968, will continue as Founder & Chairman of the family-owned company. “The past year has brought many personal challenges my way that have taken me away from the office,” commented CAO Founder & Chairman Cano Ozgener. “Essentially, Tim has operated as the president de facto in my absence, and we felt that the time was right to make the appointment official. While relinquishing my day-to-day responsibilities, I will remain available to provide guidance when called upon.” Tim Ozgener, 36, virtually grew up in the cigar business and once served as CAO West Coast sales director before being named to the position of vice president in the late 1990s. He was also responsible for the product development of such successful CAO brands as CAO Cameroon, Brazilia, Mx2, Italia, Cx2, CAO The SopranosSM Edition, and most recently, CAO Vision. “I am looking forward to my new role at CAO,” Tim Ozgener said. “I am very excited about the years to come as we have assembled a top-notch team. CAO has achieved a great deal over the years, and we have many new exciting projects on the horizon.”
On July 17, CAO introduced its first Dominican-made cigar, CAO Vision, at the RTDA 74th Annual Convention and International Trade Show in Las Vegas.
CAO International, Inc. is the producer of one of the country’s top lines of premium cigars, Meerschaum pipes and pipe tobaccos. Founded by Cano A. Ozgener in Nashville as a labor of love 38 years ago, today CAO products can be found on every continent in the world with the exception of Antarctica. CAO produces seven cigar lines that have all been rated ‘90’ (“OUTSTANDING”) or above by Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider.
